He is currently the head coach for the men's and women's varsity teams at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville. Thad has also been teaching at Club Fit Briarcliff since 2013, and before that was Director of Tennis at Westchester Indoor Tennis Club. Thad received his P-1 level US Professional Tennis Association certification shortly after attending the University of Nevada-Reno, where he played D1 tennis. Thad started playing tennis competitively as a 10 year old and competed on state and national levels throughout his teenage years. He played in every national junior tennis tournament in the country and was ranked in the top 10 in National Juniors. As a junior player, he achieved a career-high ranking of No. 25 nationally in Brazil and No. 2 in the state of São Paulo. Murilo graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas, earning dual degrees in Economics and Finance. During his collegiate tennis career, he received All-Tournament honors in 2021 and was recognized as a “Top Saint,” an award presented to one of the university’s most outstanding student-athletes. Since 2019, Murilo has been coaching tennis in the United States, working with players of all ages and skill levels.
